Operating three sugar mills located in close proximity to the tropical city of Mackay, Mackay Sugar is Australia’s second largest sugar producer and is moving progressively towards the establishment of co-generation and ethanol operations.

A number of excellent opportunities are available for trade qualified Fitter Machinists or Fitters & Turners to join their busy machine workshop at Mackay Sugar’s central machine workshop located in Mackay.

The workshop services a number of sugar milling operations and features a wide range of equipment including boring machines, centre lathe, radial arm drills, grinders, milling machines, planing machine, and shapers.

Key Position Requirements:

• High level machining and turning experience associated with a heavy manufacturing or similar operation
• Sound mechanical knowledge and problem solving ability
• Effective communication and teamwork skills
• Demonstrated understanding and capacity to adhere to site Workplace Health & Safety requirements including completing Risk Assessments and following Safe Work Procedures
• Trade qualifications in Fitting Machining/Turning
